Douglas Grover, age 60, of Portage, OH passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 peacefully in the comfort of his home, surrounded by people who loved him. He was born on December 27, 1957 in Bowling Green, OH to Arthur and Marcella (Buchman) Grover. Doug attended Wood Lane School and graduated in 1980. He worked at Wood Lane Industries until 2003, when he moved into Leo Day Services. He retired in 2017. He moved to Wood Lane Residential Services in 1986 into the Restle Home. In 2010, he moved to the Nichols home, where he enjoyed the remainder of his years. He would have been 61 years old on December 27.
Doug was loved by all who were around him. He was cheerful and energetic. He was a kind and affectionate person and always made everyone smile with his contagious smile. Doug loved to be in the sunlight and would often sit by windows or in the sun’s rays. He spent many hours listening and dancing to music. He had a special fondness for Christmas, especially the lights. Doug loved relaxing at night with a bath and bubbles. He will be missed by all.
Doug, is survived by his brothers: Raymond (Deborah) Grover of Waynesfield, OH, Robert (Belinda) Grover of Portage, OH, Roger (Jan) Grover of Wayne, OH, Donald (Sandra) Grover of Bowling Green, OH, David (Beth) Grover of Lyons, OH, sisters: Jane Shultz of Bradner, OH, Judy Walter of Bowling Green, OH and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Ronald Grover, Infant brother, Dale Grover and brother-in-law: Joe Shultz.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m., Monday, December 3, 2018 at the Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, OH. Family and friends will be received beginning at 10:00 a.m., until time of service. Officiating will be Deacon Charlie McDaniel. Interment will be in Pemberville Cemetery, Pemberville, OH.
