Douglas W. White, 79, of Bowling Green, OH passed away peacefully on May 22, 2023. He was born on June 17, 1943 to the late Harley and Helen (Nichelson) White. He married the love of his life, Ila (Spoores) White in 1964 and she survives him.
Douglas (Doug) is also survived by his daughters: Kimberly (Mike) Sader; and Tamera White; grandchildren: Jaekob and Gryffin Sader; sister Sharon Shepard; and brothers: Richard, Robert, Daniel, and Harley White Jr.. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: David and Tom.
Doug graduated from Bowling Green High School and retired from the Wood County Highway Department in 2001, where he drove dump truck and operated heavy equipment. He used his retirement to spend time with his grandsons, the lights of his life, and enjoy his hobbies. He had a love for Texaco and was an avid collector of anything automotive. He even built a ‘mancave’ where he could enjoy the collection. Doug owned many classic cars and he and Ila attended every car show they could. He was a huge NASCAR fan and attended the MIS race on his 50th birthday. Doug also enjoyed the outdoors. He spent many summers camping and boating. He also loved to fish and deer hunt. He remained a kid at heart and was a prankster. He will be remembered for his ornery smile, sparkling blue eyes, laugh and big heart by those closest to him.
