Eunice Baumbarger

Eunice Mae Lee Baumbarger, 89, of Haskins, passed away May 21, 2017, at Elizabeth Scott Community. She was born on January 17, 1928, to the late Betrue and Clara (Loomis) Lee.
Eunice lived a full and active life. She was a resident of Haskins for 73 years. Eunice was born in Toledo, Ohio, the 3rd of 11 children. She graduated from Haskins High School in 1945. She worked as a telephone operator before marrying her husband Howard Baumbarger in 1948. They were happily married for 54 years and had 3 children.
Eunice had many hobbies including reading, women’s softball, cake decorating, candle making, crocheting, knitting, sewing and embroidering, and painting ceramics. In 1977, she fulfilled a dream to become a licensed practical nurse by graduating from the Bowling Green Area School of Practical Nursing. She worked at Wood County Hospital, Sunshine Children’s Home, Perrysburg Commons, and as a private duty nurse. Eunice and Howard enjoyed many years of camping together and with family members. After retiring, she devoted her time to gardening and volunteering. She became a master gardener and volunteered many years at Wood County Park District. She was an active member of Plain Congregational Church and with the Wood County Senior Center.
She is survived by children, Carol Ann (Timothy) Meyer, Waterville, OH, Gary Lee Baumbarger (Carol Ann Humphries), Decatur, IL, and Glenna Mae (Robert) Frey, Whitehouse, OH; grandchildren, Anthony (Sarah Maxwell) Meyer, Matthew Meyer, Philip (Rebecca) Meyer, Melanie (Matthew) Wahlgren, Lisa (Josh) Cochran, Cody (Becca) Baumbarger, Brandi Gaither, Dustin Baumbarger, Amanda Frey, and Sawyer Frey; siblings, Verna Miles, Emma Lashaway, Walter Lee, Robert Lee, Douglas Lee, and John Lee, and 22 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Howard Baumbarger, and her siblings, Freda Smith, Doris Steinline, Charles Lee, and Forrest Lee.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, from 4 pm to 8pm at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 7220 Dutch Rd., Waterville, OH. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 am at Plain Congregational Church, 16011 West Poe Road, Bowling Green, OH. Burial will follow at Union Hill Cemetery.
