Erin Konecki, Emergency Management Agency deputy director for Wood County, has issued the following advisory:
A flood watch remains in effect for Wood County through Thursday morning. Widespread rain that has occurred over NW Ohio will continue to expand across the area with periods of moderate and heavy rainfall rates possible. Up to 2.5 inches has fallen across portions of NW Ohio already, especially in Lucas County. An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain is likely through today and tonight, with some higher localized amounts possible.
Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. Greatest flooding concerns are for urban areas along with small streams and creeks. Clear leaves from streets and drainages systems to reduce flooding impacts. Stay away from flood waters, do not drive or walk through them, check your sump pumps, move valuable items to higher elevation if able. Stay alert for local warnings and changes in the forecast.
There is also the potential for wind gusts up to 39 mph in our area. Consider moving outdoor items inside and secure loose items as able.
