Frank A Kominek

Frank A. Kominek, 97, of Waterville, Ohio and formerly of Bowling Green, passed away April 19, 2023. He was born January 2, 1926 in Axis, Alabama to the late John and Frances (Cibulka) Kominek. He married Virginia Amos on May 16, 1952, and she preceded him in death in 2014.

Frank was employed by the Rossford Ordnance and later worked for Abe Nickey, installing aluminum doors and windows. He then opened his own business, Frank Kominek Aluminum. His Ford pickup could be seen all over northwest Ohio, and he knew someone everywhere he went.

Frank was a life member of the Bowling Green Elks Lodge #818. He loved sports, especially bowling, golf, basketball, baseball and football. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, Elmwood Royals, and Anthony Wayne Generals fan. He served as a scorekeeper for Elmwood Basketball for many years. Frank loved his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their activities.

He is survived by his daughter Elaine (Emerson “Keith”) Colyer of Whitehouse, Ohio, grandchildren Rebecca (Terry) McClure of Swannanoa, North Carolina and Logan (Heather) Colyer of Marysville, Ohio, and sister Frances Wade of Waterville, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Virginia, and siblings John Kominek Jr, Charles Kominek, Mary Urban, and Lydia Kaschak.

Visitation will be held on Monday April 24, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster St. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday April 25, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Wood County Memory Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Elmwood Athletic Boosters, The American Red Cross or the Anthony Wayne Band Boosters.
