Meet Gilbert, a “super cute low rider that loves everybody he meets,” according to Wood County Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding.
Gilbert is a 4-5-year-old pittie/basset hound mix. He weighs 35 pounds, is fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and neutered. He does well with the other dogs at the shelter, but people with dogs are advised to bring them in to meet Gilbert if they want to take him home.
He has been the dog shelter office mascot this week and does fantastic. He loves to play, but will settle down when he needs to and take a nap.
The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed. The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
