Grounds For Thought premieres new film on Colombian venture

Bowling Green-based coffee company Grounds For Thought announces the premier of its new documentary film, “The Journey to El Carmelo,” on Sunday Oct. 8, 4 p.m. at Grounds For Thought, 174 S. Main Street Bowling Green.

Filmed and edited by BG-based videographer Dustin Galish, “The Journey to El Carmelo,” follows the Grounds For Thought crew on their latest coffee adventures. From the vibrant streets of Bogota to the coffee farm in the beautiful hills of Teruel Colombia, the 30-minute documentary is an exploration of the coffee, culture and arts of Colombia.

A meet and greet with El Carmelo coffee farm owner, Miguel Llanos and members of the trip will take place after the premier. The event is free and open to the public. 

Grounds For Thought works directly with The El Carmelo farm and is the exclusive importer of this family-to-family direct trade coffee. 

In March of 2023, Grounds For Thought and The El Carmelo farm announced the creation of The Grounds For Thought Nature Reserve. A sustainability project to protect twenty five percent of the farms land for native plants and animals.
