Half-naked stranger reportedly found on couch of BG home

Bowling Green Police Division arrested a woman after she was found half-naked and covered in vomit on a couch in a stranger’s home.

Sarah Girten, 23, has been charged with burglary, criminal mischief and failure to disclose her personal information.

Police received a call from a homeowner in the 400 block of Wallace Avenue on Wednesday around 2:10 a.m., about an intoxicated woman lying on his couch. When police arrived, Girten was on the couch with a blanket pulled up to her chin. Her eyes were open, but she did not answer when asked what she was doing.

According to the police report, the officer saw vomit on Girten’s pants, the blanket, the couch, the floor, and on some clothes on a nearby table.

A female officer arrived at the home, and held the blanket in front of Girten as the other officer handcuffed her behind her back. The female officer then placed Girten’s jacket across the front of her body, and the other officer tied the arms in the back so that she was covered.

The homeowner explained that his front door was unlocked because he was changing the antique door knob.

Girten repeatedly refused to give officers her name or birth date.

Once placed in the back of the patrol vehicle, Girten reportedly began banging her head against the plastic partition. Officers locked her seatbelt, so she could no longer bang her head.

Girten was taken to the Wood County jail, where a deputy reported that she eventually gave her name. She reportedly lives on the 200 block of North Maple Street.
