Helen Catherine (Skelley) Getzinger, 80, of Weston, Ohio passed away October 14, 2021. She was born on December 23, 1940 in Altoona, Pennsylvania. She attended Altoona High School, married Nicholas B. Getzinger on August 14, 1959 on a Navy Base in North Carolina, after meeting him through her cousin who was in the Navy with Nick. They eventually set up home in Toledo, Ohio.
Helen was a gentle soul with a beautiful smile. She doted on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved politics and news. She also enjoyed knitting, crochet and painting ceramics. She and Nick lived in Grand Rapids Ohio, then Weston, Ohio, then Georgia before finally returning to Ohio.
She loved her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren and always had special memories with them during summer camping season.
Helen was survived children: Kathleen (Floyd) Cole; Pamulla (William) Cole; Laurie Tatum; Nicholas (Tracy) Getzinger, Jr.; Richard (Amanda) Getzinger ; Walter (Michelle) Getzinger; and Albert Getzinger; 27 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and one due on October 31, 2021; brother Ted (Joan) Skelley; Helen was preceded in death by her husband by only 12 hours; parents: Richard E. and Helen (Clayball) Skelley; and sister Camile (Skelley) Steward
A Service will be set at a later date in November.
