The Wood County Emergency Management Agency has issued the following advisory:
The EMA wants to make sure that you are all aware of the predicted strong winds tonight (March 25). Wood County is in under a Wind Advisory from late this evening until tomorrow (Friday, March 26) afternoon.
Southwest winds 20-30 mph and gusts up to 55 mph are expected in the advisory area. Predicted onset for the strongest winds in our area are to begin around 4 a.m. Friday.
There’s a low chance of thunderstorms in Ohio tonight, which may produce damaging wind gusts. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
See the Convective Outlook graphic below for additional details. Brief periods of heavy rain are possible in Northwest Ohio tonight, which may result in minor flooding in low-lying areas near creeks/streams. The EMA will continue to monitor changes in weather conditions.
Stay safe and make sure all loose items are secured or moved inside. Also, avoid traveling in high-profile vehicles if possible.
