James Allen Maurer, 79, of Treasure Island, Florida formerly of Bowling Green, died peacefully at home on July 22, 2021. He was born to the late Earl Leonard Maurer and Mabel Marie Maurer (Rodabaugh) on October 26, 1941 in Bowling Green, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Naomi Ellen Furbee and a half brother, Donald Twining.
James enjoyed the Gulf of Mexico, his friends, his children, his grandchildren and people he met along the way. He loved a good project and creating. We who loved him will remember the right way, the wrong way, and the Jim Maurer way.
He is survived by his wife Brenda Haas of Treasure Island, Florida, his first wife Sue Triggs Maurer of Bowling Green, his children: Mike (Kim) Maurer of Columbus, Anne (Tony) Maurer-Warstler of Warsaw, Indiana, Karen (John) Hagemeyer of Bowling Green, honorary son Al Steinke of Bowling Green, grandchildren: Alexander Maurer, Jack, Luke, and Zane Hagemeyer, Lauren Sewell, and one great-grandchild Milo Maccanico.
A private family service will be held.
