Jeff Dever to retire as BGHS principal in August

High School Principal Jeff Dever talks about structural issues in building during a tour in 2019.

Bowling Green High School Principal Jeff Dever will be retiring this summer.

Tuesday evening, the board of education accepted Dever’s resignation, effective Aug. 1.

Superintendent Francis Scruci thanked the principal for his years of service.

“He’s been a mainstay at the high school,” Scruci said. “He’s impacted a lot of lives of students during his tenure.”

Dever will leave big shoes to fill – “literally and figuratively,” Scruci said.

Newly-elected board president Norm Geer said he has known every principal of Bowling Green High School since the 1960s.

“Jeff is the one I respect the most,” Geer said. “He’s the rock we could always count on.”
