Cygnet man arrested for reportedly causing disturbances in downtown businesses

Bowling Green Police arrested a Cygnet man for causing disturbances in downtown businesses on Friday (Sept. 1).

Lucas Townsend, 40, was arrested for criminal trespassing, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct with persistence.

Police were called in the evening for a man who was reportedly intoxicated and had a garbage bag slung over his shoulder. Police had handled a similar complaint in the afternoon involving the same man disrupting a business.

Police were flagged down around 9 p.m. by an employee at the ClaZel, in the 100 block of North Main Street, who identified Townsend as the man who had just left the business. Townsend reportedly walked in the back door of the business, and was asked to leave because the business was closed. He reportedly got on the stage and began swinging around a microphone stand and other equipment. When asked to leave again, he reportedly kicked the glass doors to go outside.

Townsend, who reportedly was intoxicated, was taken to Wood County Jail.
