Jo Beth Gonzalez will be the third Bowling Green City Schools teacher to be honored as an Inspirational Educator by the Bowling Green Kiwanis Club. She will be the guest speaker at the club’s noon luncheon on Thursday at Stone Ridge Golf Club.
Gonzalez has taught theater arts at Bowling Green High School for 25 years and has been an advocate for theater education in Ohio throughout her teaching career. She has also directed dozens of plays and musicals and served as the long-time leader of her school’s thespian troupe.
Gonzalez is the author of two books and is the past president of the American Alliance for Theatre and Education. She was also honored by the Bowling Green State University College of Education and Human Development as the 2016 Educator the Year.
