River House Gallery will present present an intimate look at John Lennon in “The Lost Weekend: Photographs of May Pang,” for two days only July 18 and 19, 4-8 p.m.

During the exhibit, the photographer, who was the rock ‘n’ roll legend’s mistress, will be at the gallery at 425 Jefferson Ave., Toledo.

From late 1973 through 1975, May Pang was a central figure in one of the most significant and productive chapters of John Lennon’s post-Beatles career. More than a whirlwind romantic partner, Pang was a budding music industry professional who helped Lennon produce three solo albums during their time together, including “Walls and Bridges” – which included Lennon’s only #1 Hit Single, “Whatever Gets You Through the Night.” She was also a talented photographer who captured countless images of one of the most iconic figures of the 20th Century.

The gallery event provides the public an opportunity to view Pang’s photographs of Lennon in person – and in the presence of the artist herself.

“The Lost Weekend – Photographs of May Pang” includes more than two dozen photographs taken during this pivotal 18-month period and coincides with the 2023 release of the feature documentary about Pang and Lennon, “The Lost Weekend: A Love Story.” Click to see trailer.
