Judith Goris

Judith “Judy” Goris, 76, of Weston, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2016.

 

Judy was born on February 11, 1940 in Toledo to the late Glen and Dorothy (Mercer) Koenigseker.  Judy married Raymond “Ray” Goris on July 9, 1959 in the St. Louis Catholic Church in Custar, and he survives in Weston.

 

Judy was a graduate of Anthony Wayne High School and attended Bowling Green State University for a brief time until she met the love of her life Ray Goris.  Judy lived and worked her entire life on their family farm in Weston, where she was a loyal partner and farm wife to her husband Ray.   Judy was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Judy served for the American Red Cross for over 25 years where she was the volunteer coordinator for blood mobiles in Bowling Green and on the campus of Bowling Green State University.

 

Judy according to her nieces, who were like children to her, was an “avid shopper”.  She loved taking her nieces shopping and spending the day with them, especially there excursions on Black Friday!  Judy also enjoyed doing crafts but most of all her family meant the world to her and she loved spending time and cooking for them.

 

Along with her husband of 57 years Ray, Judy is survived by a son: Ricky Goris, of Brunswick; loving nieces: Cindy (Kenny) George, of Wayne; Deb (Jeff Bockbrader) Barndt, of Bowling Green; Diana (Randy) Roberts, of Bowling Green; Amy (Ben) Hendricks, of Bowling Green; Carrie (Scott) Arnold, of Findlay; loving nephews: Arnie (Karen) Rader, of Grand Rapids; Jim (Karen) Hill, of Troy; A host of loving great nieces and nephews who were like her grandchildren; brothers-in-law: Harold Rader, of Weston,  and Lee Hill, of Weston.

 

Along with her parents, Judy was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Julie Goris; a brother: John Koenigseker; sisters-in-law: Joanne Rader and Kathy Hill; and a nephew: Dan Hill

 

Visitation for Judy will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM with a Prayer Service beginning at 5:00 PM in the DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1460 W. Wooster Street/P.O. Box 648, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Tele: 419-352-2171.  Judy’s Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 26, 2016 with Father David Tscherne officiating in the St. Louis Catholic Church, 22792 Defiance Pike, Custar, Ohio, 43511.  Interment will follow in the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Custar, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers:  Memorial Contributions may be given in Judy’s honor to either St. Louis Catholic Church or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio; 30000 West River Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.
