Kimberly Y. Horen, 50, of Bowling Green, OH, died May 17, 2018 at Bridge Hospice in Bowling Green, OH. She was born October 26, 1967 in Toledo, OH to Richard & Martha (Saylor) Shoemaker. Kim graduated from Anthony Wayne High School in 1986 where she was a proud Marching General. She was a 1990 Owens Community College Graduate.
Kim attended Fallen Timbers Community Church in Waterville, OH. She was a preschool teacher for many years at St. Paul Lutheran Preschool in Bowling Green. Kim was present for all of her children’s extra curricular activities from soccer games to band performances. She was a Girl Scout Troop Leader for her girls, a long time 4-H leader for Green Meadows 4-H club, and a volunteer for her son’s Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. She was a supportive and compassionate wife and mother who enjoyed cooking and taking many photos.
She married Joel Horen October 28, 1989. He survives along with children: Jason (Sarah), Allison, Bethany, and Olivia; parents: Richard and Martha Shoemaker; mother-in-law Nancy Horen; and siblings: Dennis (Linda) St. Johns, Dan (Karen) St. Johns, Robert Shoemaker, and Pam (Tom) Rice. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry & Anna Shoemaker and Louis & Lutishie Saylor, father-in-law, Glenn Horen and several aunts and uncles.
Friends and family may call Sunday May 20, 2018 from 1-6 p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 7220 Dutch Rd. Waterville, OH. Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church; 17050 Middleton Pike Rd. Bowling Green, OH 43402 with Pastor Pat Cannon officiating. Burial will follow at Tontogany Cemetery.
