Latta casts vote for Jordan, who fails in his bid for House speakership

In the just concluded vote for the Speaker of the House, U.S. Rep. Bob Latta cast his vote for fellow Ohioan U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan.

Jordan, however, fell short receiving 200 votes, 17 shy of the 217 her needed. Twenty Republicans cast votes for seven other candidates, including for Speaker Kevin McCarthy who received six and Jordan’s challenger U.S. Steve Scalise who received 7.

U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur voted with all 212 Democratic member for U.S. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries.
