Five Ohio congressmen signed on to the Texas lawsuit to invalidate the votes in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. They are:
Bill Johnson, 6th district
Robert Latta, 5th district
Brad Wenstrup, 2nd district
Jim Jordan (no surprise there): 4th district Bob Gibbs, 7th district
I am deeply disturbed over the 100 House republicans who supported the president’s attempt to overturn the legitimate 2020 presidential election. But I am more disturbed by the man representing Wood County. I lived in Wood County for over 70 years before moving to the Old West End in Toledo last year.
I feel a strong tie to the county. And I remember Delbert Latta as an honorable legislator. But his son was willing to give up that heritage and join the crazy effort to overturn the will of the people and chip away at the foundations of democracy. He doesn’t leave me angry; he leaves me sad. How can intelligent men and women become willing supporters of something so clearly wrong? With absolutely no evidence to support their attempts to dishonor our way of life, their legal challenges have all been dismissed, even by Supreme Court members appointed by the president. Delbert’s son, by his actions, has revealed who he is.
I hope for a brighter future where representatives respect the rule of law, the constitution, and democracy.
