Linda Sue (Brigham) Rood has passed away peacefully and pain free with her family by her side. Linda was born in Bowling Green, OH to the later Robert and Jan (Patterson) Brigham. She married James Rood on April 25, 1959. Surviving are her loving husband, Jim, children; Scott and Mike (Cherie) Rood, three grandchildren; Ashley (Tony) Lake, Alex and Nick Rood, two great-grandchildren; Avery and Jackson, one sister; Marilyn (late Tom) Glenn, one niece, one nephew, three great nieces and two great nephews.
Linda was a1957 graduate of Bowling Green High School and attended BGSU. She worked in the family business for many years, Brigham’s Flower and Greenhouse. She was also a manager for Sarah Coventry Jewelry, winning many awards for high sales. Linda also helped at the French knot and owned Collegiate Connection (Jeans n Things) from 1980-2011. Linda was a den mother for Boy Scout Troup #422, she was a past member of Beta Sigma Phi, King’s Daughters and University Spirit. She was a long time member of Bowling Green Country Club and BGCC Golferettes where she served multiple times as president and social chairman, coordinating many fashion shows and other events. She also loved bowling in the Housewives League. Linda was a snowbird and enjoyed trading Ohio winters for Fort Myers Beach, Florida Sunshine. There, she was a member of the Red Hat Society (Coquinas). Along with Bowling and golf, Linda enjoyed needlework and scrapbooking. She loved traveling and seeing the country with her husband (Alaska, Maine, Upper Peninsula and Hawaii). Her favorite sights were lighthouses and beaches. Outside of scenery, she loved her family very much. Linda was a generous, kind, loving and sweet. Anyone who knew her was likely to love her. She was strong, especially the last few years of her life. She will be greatly missed by so many and always remembered.
Funeral services for Linda will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2016 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Dunn Funeral Home located in Bowling Green’s Historical District at 408 W. Wooster St. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home, also on Wednesday.
