Local residents invited to give input during public meeting on wildlife feeding ordinance

Podium in new BG city council chambers.

The proposed ordinance in Bowling Green that would prohibit the outdoor feeding of wild animals, except for songbirds, will be the topic of a public meeting to get input from the community.

The Transportation and Safety Committee of Bowling Green City Council will hold the public meeting on Monday, June 3, at 6 p.m., in the council chamber, 305 N. Main St.

William Herald, who is the committee chair, said he encourages feedback prior to and at the meeting. He requested that e-mail be directed to him (williamjherald@gmail.com) so that a list of concerns/questions/suggestions can be compiled and researched prior to the public meeting.

According to Herald, the goal is to further refine the definition of the problem, identify potential tradeoffs, and discern community preferences so that a multifaceted solution can be fashioned.
