Louis R O’Drobinak

Louis Richard O’Drobinak Jr., 75, of Sarasota, Florida and formerly of Crown Point, Indiana, passed away August 16, 2026 with his family by his side. He was born July 14, 1951 in East Chicago, Indiana to the late Louis O’Drobinak Sr. and Ethel (Kozak) O’Drobinak. He married Margaret “Peg” Mulroe in 1979 and she survives.

“Big Lou” had a personality larger than life. He was the life of the party and his presence was known in any room he walked into. He was quick to make friends and genuinely loved being around people. Lou never missed a college football Saturday and also enjoyed spending time playing golf.

His pride and joy was his son Sean and following Sean through his collegiate football career at BGSU. Lou loved Bowling Green, the games, the tailgates, the parties and all of the relationships that developed throughout that time with Sean’s teammates, parents, coaches and community members that he maintained to this day. His greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Along with his wife of 47 years, Peg, Lou is survived by his son Sean (Simone) O’Drobinak of Perrysburg, Ohio, sister Sharon Davis of Crown Point, Indiana, grandchildren Kristofer Sheets, Benjamin Sheets, Finnegan O’Drobinak and Murphy O’Drobinak, in-laws Michael (Debbie) Mulroe, Kevin (Joni) Mulroe, Karen (John) Mummery, Mary Mulroe and Terri Mulroe and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws Phil and Mary Dawn Mulroe and brothers-in-law Phil Mulroe and Paul Davis.

A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the caring guidance of Dunn Funeral Home in Bowling Green and Burns Funeral Home in Crown Point, Indiana.
