This week’s featured dog from the Wood County Dog Shelter is Winston, a 5-6-year-old mastiff mix that was brought in as a stray. Winston weighs 90 pounds, is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and neutered.
According to Dog Warden Jodi Harding, Winston is ready to be someone’s couch potato.
Winston does well with the other dogs at the shelter, but staff recommends bringing any dogs from the household to meet him. It’s unknown how he is with cats, so any potential adopters are encouraged to bring their cats in to meet him first.
The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed. The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays.
