Mental health lunch & learn series planned

Are you curious about the new Crisis Services in Wood County? Have you seen the Netflix Series 13 Reasons Why? Do you enjoy learning about our community’s mental health service providers? Then join the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Wood County as we host our annual Mental Health Conference Series.

This year we will be hosting “Something to Chew On” a two part Lunch n’ Learn style series discussing HOT community topics. The first lunch will be on Friday July 13 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. hosted at BGSU at Levis Commons in Perrysburg.

Come and hear guest speakers from UNISON, including new director Bill Emahiser, elaborate on the new crisis services available to Wood County residents and how best to access and use these services.  The second lunch will be on Friday, Aug. 10 from 11:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. hosted at the same location, BGSU at Levis Commons in Perrysburg. This presentation will touch on topics discussed in the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why and include local agency speakers from the Education Service Center and the Cocoon Shelter, who will elaborate on the topic driven services available in Wood County. Friday, July 13 presentation will cost $5 and will include lunch, Friday, Aug. 10 presentation will cost $10 and will include lunch as well as CE’s for interested parties.
