Myrtle M. Chambers, 92, of Delaware, Ohio and formerly of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away April 18, 2019. She was born November 11, 1926 in Dayton, Ohio to Albert and Ruby (Armstrong) Rogers. She married Malcolm G. Chambers on May 19, 1961 and he preceded her in death in February of 1982.
Myrtle went to high school on nights and weekends while working on a Naval Yard in Vallejo, California delivering mail. Over the course of her life she worked as a cook for a fraternity, meat cutter, home health care assistant and an assembly worker for Peter’s Stamping. She loved to cook and was known for her wonderful southern comfort meals that she prepared. She also enjoyed reading and gardening. Her greatest joy in life came from the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters Barbara (Rick) Knepper of Delaware, Ohio and Mary Bradford of Bowling Green, Ohio, brother Hulette “Joel” (Kathelene) Rogers of Michigan, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother Willard Rogers and sister Fairy Helen.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday April 23, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster St. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bowling Green. Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.
