Nabieh Mikhail

Nabieh Mikhail, 77, of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019. Nabieh was born on May 2, 1942 to Khalada and Liza Mikhail in Cairo, Egypt. He married Nargis Youseff on January 20, 1972.

Nabieh attended university in Cairo where he earned a master’s degree in engineering and went on to teach mathematics at the university level. He served in the Egyptian Army, where he obtained the rank of Major. After serving in the military, he immigrated to the United States with his wife and family. He went to work for Doehler-Jarvis and eventually retired as a tool and die maker.

Nabieh didn’t know any strangers; only friends that he hadn’t met yet. He will be remembered as a caring and compassionate man, having volunteered with the local food bank, as well as other charities and causes. He proudly volunteered with the Wood County Board of Elections as a poll attendant. He was devoted to his family, often going to great lengths to help, guide and nurture. Nabieh was a devout Christian and founding member of St. George Coptic Orthodox Church in Monclova, Ohio.

Nabieh will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Nargis; his daughter Rania (Jack) Haynes; his son Aschraf (Kate) Mikhail; his grandchildren: Ava, Lexi, Joel, Max, and Kristoff (Brittany); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and close family and friends from around the world. He will be reunited in heaven with his parents, brothers and sisters.

Visitation for Nabieh will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory, 1460 W. Wooster Street / P.O. Box 648, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402, Tel.: (419) 352-2171. Nabieh’s Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 15, 2019 at 1:00 PM at St. George Coptic Orthodox Church, 4860 Waterville Monclova Road, Monclova, Ohio 43542. Interment will immediately follow at Union Hill Cemetery in Bowling Green.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Nabieh’s honor may be gifted to St. George Coptic Orthodox Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
