HarpFEST returns to St. Tim’s

From ST. TIM’S DISCOVERS

Hosted by St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, Perrysburg, the St. Tim’s Discovers music series will begin the 2019-20 season with the Sixth Annual HarpFEST and harp camp.

Directed by Nancy Lendrim, principal harpist for the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, the week-long camp is attended by harpists ranging in age from 10-80+ years. After a week of intense lessons and workshops, the HarpFEST is the grand finale by the camp participants before a public audience. Solos, small ensembles and selections featuring the entire camp are on the program.

Sponsors of the camp include St. Tim’s Discovers,The Virginia Harp Center, Toledo Symphony Orchestra, and NW Ohio Chapter of the American Harp Society.

In recent years, the HarpFEST musicians have offered two identical concerts, however this year there is only one performance, Friday, July 19, beginning at 7 p.m. Due to the overwhelming popularity of the previous HarpFEST concerts, the audience is encouraged to arrive early for the best selection of seats. Overflow seating will be accommodated in the Parish Hall, via live streaming.

The concert is being held in St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church free of charge; however, donations are kindly accepted.

St. Timothy’s is located at 871 East Boundary St. Perrysburg. The church has ample parking and is fully handicapped accessible.

St. Tim’s Discovers is a multi-event music series provided for the communities of Wood County and across the northwest Ohio region.
