NAMI Wood County offers family educational programs

NAMI Basics, Kidshop and WRAP for Kids promotion

NAMI Basics, Kidshop and Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) for Kids will be offered by NAMI Wood County on Saturday mornings starting April 22 through May 6.

NAMI Basics is an educational program for parents and caregivers of children and adolescents living with mental illnesses. It covers the fundamentals of caring for yourself, your family and your child. The program will be held at the NAMI Wood County offices, 1250 Ridgewood Dr. Bowling Green, from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

Kidshop and Wellness Recovery Action Plan WRAP for Kids will be held at the same time and location as NAMI Basics, allowing parents and caregivers to attend the adult programming.

Kidshop is a free, innovative, activity-based workshop for children in 2nd through 8th grades whose lives have been impacted by a mental health diagnosis.

WRAP for Kids workshop is a free-of-charge, self-designed course about identifying personal wellness tools for children.  All children attending the programming must be able to use the restroom independently. Contact the office at 419-352-0626 if you have questions about your child’s eligibility.

Registration for all three programs is available at https://namiwoodcounty.org/nami-basics-0/.

The NAMI Wood County Family and Caregiver Support Group continues on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 2-3 p.m. at the Bowling Green location. The support group is a peer-led support group for parents, family members, and caregivers of individuals living with mental illness.
