No more yellow drop boxes – downtown parking tickets can now be paid online

Downtown parking lot off South Church Street

Beginning today (Jan. 19), the Bowling Green Police Division will begin using the Roker Parking Solution to increase efficiencies with parking enforcement and allow for online payment of parking fines.

Because of these upgrades, parking tickets received will have a new look and the yellow payment drop boxes, located in city-owned parking lots, will be removed. Individuals who receive a parking ticket will be encouraged to pay online at www.bgohio.org/parking. Those wishing to pay in-person may do so at the Police Station.

Visitors of the city-owned parking lots are reminded of the timed parking restrictions. Each parking lot has signs indicating 3-hour and 10-hour parking areas. Violations of the timed parking restrictions will result in ticketing of vehicles and possibly towing of vehicles.

No vehicles may remain within city-owned parking lots overnight without a current and valid permit. Vehicles in violation of this may be towed at the owner’s expense and the owner may receive a parking ticket.

The Residential Parking Permit would allow for overnight parking within designated areas. A limited number of Residential Parking Permits are issued on a first come first serve basis to residents of the downtown area.

Applications are now available online and can be accessed on the city’s website: www.bgohio.org/parking or may be submitted at the Police Station.

While there is no fee to park in city-owned parking lots, where parking meters are located there is a charge for parking and meter violations are enforced.
