ODOT work to close Ohio 582 and I-75 on/off ramps

The Ohio 582 widening and bridge rehabilitation project has started preparing for closures beginning May 13, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

This project is upgrading five miles of Route 582 by widening and reconstructing between I-75 and Ohio 199. This project will include the bridges over I-75, Carter Road and Packer Creek; drainage; ditch work; guardrail upgrades; and related work.

May 13 through October, Route 582 between I-75 and Route 199 will be closed to through traffic. However, residential access will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.

May 13 begins two closures on Route 582, one on either side of the project:

  • Route 582 will be closed between Caris Road and Carter Road through mid-June for culvert installation, drainage work, and roadway reconstruction. North-south roads, including Route 199, will remain open.
  • The Route 582 bridge over I-75 will be closed through mid-June for rehabilitation. Also, May 29 through mid-June, the I-75 on/off ramps will be closed.
