Park district reacts to coronavirus crisis

From WOOD COUNTY PARK DISTRICT

In following public health officials and guidelines from regional, state, and federal agencies, the Wood County Park District is cancelling all programs through the end of March. Public programs, requested group programs, and volunteer programs scheduled to take place in March have been cancelled. Public patience and understanding are appreciated while the Park District works on designing ways to serve the public with programming without endangering public health.

Look for information coming soon on the Wood County Park District’s social media about virtual ways to experience quality park programs. Please look to the wcparks.org website and follow “What’s New,” to stay up-to-date on park information as this situation evolves. For disease and health information, please contact the Wood County Health Department, The Ohio Department of Health, and/or the Center for Disease Control.

In addition, all events of over 100 people are prohibited. Facility rentals for March expecting 100, or more guests have been cancelled. We empathize with this inconvenience and wish all our community members well.

The public has been cautioned by health officials who ask us all to  implement social distancing in order to avoid further community spread of the SARS-nCoV-2 virus, also known as Coronavirus which can develop into the COVID-19 disease.

All Wood County Park District properties remain open to the public everyday from 8 a.m. until 30 minutes past sunset.

If you have additional questions about parks and programs, please call Park District Headquarters 419-353-1897
