Patricia O. Swope, 91, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Wednesday November 15, 2017. She was born March 17, 1926 in Ada, Ohio to Carlos Dale and Opal Anetta (McPharon) Church. She married Merlin Leroy Swope on September 23, 1944 and he preceded her in death on December 29, 1999.
Patricia was a 4-H advisor for many years. She was a member of the Questettes and enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting, gardening and bird watching. She loved to cook and was always taking care of everyone else. Her greatest joy in life came from spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters Julie Swope Friess (Harold) of North Baltimore, Ohio and Phyllis Swope James of Bowling Green, Ohio, granddaughters Laura Friess Westgate (Jason) of Cygnet, Ohio and Penelope Friess Bienek (Scott) of Cygnet, Ohio, great-grandchildren Alyssa Phillips Bell (Kaelan), Hannah Friess, Lilly Westgate, Madison Westgate and Hunter Westgate.
She was preceded in death by her husband Merlin, four siblings and son-in-law Robert James.
Visitation will be held on Sunday November 19, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster St. Her funeral service will be held on Monday November 20, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at New Maplewood Cemetery in North Baltimore, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the North Baltimore Library.
