Pemberville electricity to be shut off by First Energy for four hours on Dec. 6

Pemberville Village Hall

The Village of Pemberville has been informed by First Energy that there will be a complete interruption of electricity to the village next Wednesday, Dec. 6. This will affect any electric customers who pay a Village of Pemberville utility bill.

This will be a complete shutdown of the power to the entire village between the hours of 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Since the village buys its electricity from First Energy, the village has no control over the timing of this shut-off. Residents and businesses are asked to prepare for this outage in advance by taking basic preventative measures, such as charging phones, making arrangements for medical needs that require electricity, or refraining from doing anything that an interruption of power could ruin.

People with telephones on VoIP, will not have phone service. Cell phones should be fine. The bank will not be able to process any transactions and the stores and restaurants will most likely not be open for business.

Anyone with neighbors or friends that they typically look after, may want to consider reaching out in advance of this scheduled shutdown.

Anyone with questions may reach out to the village office at 419-287-3832 or call Mayor Carol Bailey directly at 419-419-9645.
