Pemberville native pens volume of inspirational poetry

Submitted by KEVIN MORAN

Local author Kevin Moran has written his third book of inspirational poetry titled The Things I Need You to Know. This collection of poetry highlights empowering messages of empathic support, kindness, and empowerment for the reader.

In the preface of the poetry book, Kevin writes, “I wrote this as a love song from my heart to you. I know these are messages you have likely heard before, but it my honest and sincere prayer that you allow these words the chance to settle within your spirit in a manner they might not have had the opportunity to do so before.”

“Writing is a tool that has been quite powerful for me throughout my life,” Kevin explains. He continues, “It’s been a resource I leaned on for support when I was younger and it continues to be a helpful coping mechanism for me to this day. In my work in mental health, I often find patterns within client’s experiences. After hearing client’s stories for the past few years, I found myself longing to share similar messages to clients, wishing clients can feel within themselves the love, hope, and connection they are deserving of. This book of poetry is my attempt at helping clients — and all people — feel an internalized sense of self-love.”

Originally from Pemberville, Kevin currently lives in Hawaii with this husband. He owns and operates a mental wellness coaching practice in addition to serving as the host of The United Outsiders Podcast. He has previously released two additional books of poetry, Joshua 1:9 in 2014 and A Box to Think Out Of in 2017, both under his maiden name of Kevin Martin.
