Pinwheels to represent child abuse investigations in 2022 in Wood County

Children from First United Methodist Child Learning Center posted pinwheels in 2022.

With April being Child Abuse Awareness Month, the staff of Wood County Children Services will hold their annual Pinwheel for Prevention events on Wednesday, April 12.

The day will begin at 9 a.m. with the planting of 969 pinwheels in the front lawn at First United Methodist Church, 1528 E. Wooster St., Bowling Green. The 969 pinwheels represent the number of child abuse, neglect and dependency investigations completed and families assisted in 2022.

Following the pinwheel planting, a luncheon and silent auction will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Wood County Courthouse, Alvin L. Perkins Atrium, One Courthouse Square, Bowling Green. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, along with silent auction basket raffles.
