Timothy’s Perrysburg Foundation has  announced the artists for their St. Tim’s Discovers Music Series 2024-25 season. All performances will be presented at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 871 East Boundary, Perrysburg. All programs are free and open to the public, scheduled on Sunday afternoons at 3 p.m.

This marks the second season that Discovers has been an integral part of the new Timothy’s Perrysburg Foundation. The mission of the Foundation is “to clothe, feed and fulfill.”

The Foundation supports three initiatives: St.Tim’s Discovers Music Series; The Clothesline, a free clothing opportunity; and the new St. Tim’s Kitchen, which will support food insecurity by repurposing rescued food.

The 24-25 season features many artists with strong connections to Northwest Ohio, but new to the Discovers venue.

The season will open Sunday Oct. 6 with a recital by pianist Michael Boyd will perform a set of sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti, works by Claude Debussy, Spanish composer Rodolfo Halffter, Fanny (Mendelssohn) Hensel, and concluding with an Earl Wild arrangement “Fantasy on Porgy and Bess,” from George Gershwin’s epic work for the stage.

Upon his retirement from the University of Toledo Music Department, Boyd was named a Distinguished Professor of Piano. A Steinway artist, Boyd is active as a soloist, collaborative artist, lecturer, teacher and adjudicator.

Artists scheduled to perform include Aaron Rutter, violin and Susan Bernard, piano in an original program of Spanish Music Classics, Sunday, Nov 24.

Discovers first ever program designed for children and their caregivers will be held March 30. Toledo Symphony bassist Aaron Keaster and Michelle Keaster, music director for Monclova Christian Academy, will present original songs and stories from Keaster’s four published children’s books.

The 24-25 season will conclude with an afternoon of jazz with perennial Toledo favoriteRamona Collins, accompanied by Mark Lemle, saxophonist and a rhythm section.
