Ronald L Mullen

Ronald L. Mullen, 82, of Weston, Ohio passed away on Wednesday January 24, 2024, at home with his loving family by his side. He was born on December 1, 1941, to the late John and Frances (Carter) Mullen in Amsterdam, Ohio. He married Donna (Holloway) Coon on August 21, 1982, and she survives in Weston, Ohio.

Ron served his country proud in the United States Navy from 1960-1964 as a MM3 Machinist aboard the U.S.S. Putnam. After being honorably discharged from the Navy he worked as a carpenter journeyman for 10 years, then went on to work for the Wood County Highway Dept. and retired in 2007 after 32 years. Ron enjoyed collecting and building classic model cars, motorcycles and trucks. His favorite car was the 55 Chevy, he was also an avid Cleveland Indians baseball fan. Above all he cherished the moments with his family the most.

He will be missed dearly by his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Along with his wife of nearly 42 years, Donna, Ronald is survived by his children, John (Mary) Coon of Rudolph, OH, Julie (Kenneth) Dowling of Palmetto, FL, Jayne (Eric) Eisel, of Custar, OH, Jamie (Shawn) Coon of Toledo, OH, Michael (Katelyn) Coon of Bettendorf, IA, Ronald Nycum of Gainesville, FL, Eric (Michelle) Nycum of Massillon, OH, 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents along with, mother and stepfather-in-law Roy and Geraldine Sencenbaugh, father-in-law Donald Holloway and granddaughter Taylor Wendel.

Memorial contributions may be given to the VA of Ann Arbor or Boystown.

A visitation will be held on Monday January 29, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home located in the Historical District of Bowling Green, Ohio at 408 W. Wooster St. His funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Tonya Kelly will officiate. Full military honors will be rendered by the Wood County Honor Detail.
