Your cellphone – your lifeline – your family organizer – your best friend

Let’s talk about our cellphones.  We recognize that in-person restrictions, due to COVID 19. have changed our relationship with and dependence upon technology.  Let’s commit to understanding the evolving landscape of digital wellness in our post-pandemic world.  This technology negatively impacts interpersonal relations and mental health.  Look at these eye-opening facts:

  • Mental Distractions can last up to 27 seconds after a text or distraction occurs behind the wheel
  • Texting makes a crash up to 23x more likely
  • Distraction plays a factor in 14% of all crashes nationwide
  • Drivers under the age of 20 have the highest rate of fatal crashes related to distraction
  • 9 people are killed and more than 1,000 are injured in distracted driving crashes each day in the United States
  • 85% of smartphone users will check their phones while speaking with friends and family
  • 47% of Americans do not have a meaningful in-person social interaction on a daily basis
  • 84% of adults cannot go an entire day without their phone in-hand
  • American adults spend 11 hrs. every day engaging with some form of media

In this month of everything love and gratitude, take the pledge to never text, post, stream, or engage in any form of digital distraction behind the wheel. Let’s save lives, prevent tragic crashes, and make driving safe for everyone.
