Severe winds possible as weather system from Texas moves into the area

Jeff Klein, Emergency Management Agency  director for Wood County, has issued the following advisory:

We have been following today’s weather patterns the last few days.  We do have the potential for severe weather with the biggest threat being strong winds.  This is the same system that had damaging winds and tornados Texas saw yesterday.

Starting later this morning the we will see the winds increasing with the storms arriving in our area around 3pm today (5-19-19).  Expect damage you would normally see for your area; predominantly power lines down and tree  damage. Even though rain could be heavy at times, it should not be enough to produce wide spread flooding.  Sporadic localized flooding is possible.

We will be monitoring conditions and provide updates should conditions change.  Please monitor local conditions and media for your community.
