Bowling Green Superintendent Francis Scruci sent an email to school district parents and staff on Sunday, stating the school buildings without air conditioning may close early today and Tuesday due to extreme heat.
The predicted temperatures for Monday and Tuesday are in the 90s with a heat index approaching and possibly exceeding 100. That could raise the temperatures in Conneaut, Kenwood, and the high school to well over 100 degrees.
Scruci said he will monitor the temperatures as has been done in the past, and will consider sending students and staff home from those three buildings early.
Scruci suggests that parents dress their students in light clothing, feel free to send them to school with water bottles, and remind them to stay hydrated to deal with oppressive heat.
