A teenager reportedly shot himself in the leg accidentally Saturday while sitting in a car at the Barney’s BP gas station at 1670 E. Wooster St., Bowling Green.
Bowling Green police and an EMS crew responded to the call around 6 p.m., to find the 13-year-old boy had shot himself in the left leg with a handgun his mother had reportedly left in the car while she went inside the gas station, according to BG Police Lt. Dan Mancuso.
The boy was transported to Toledo Mercy Health Center.
His mother, Kelly Coesens, was cited for endangering a child. The mother and son are from Georgia.
