Three teens found on roof of downtown business cited for criminal trespassing

Three teenagers were cited for criminal trespassing after they were found on the rooftop of a downtown business in the 100 block of South Main Street on Monday close to midnight.

Bowling Green Police found three males, ages 15, 16 and 18, with alcohol and hashish. One reportedly had a BB gun in a backpack.

The youngest was taken to Wood County Juvenile Detention Center after he reportedly refused to allow police to search him.

The 18-year-old, who reportedly took ownership of the alcohol, was taken home by an officer.

And the 16-year-old, who had a black Glock 17 style CO2 powered air pistol with a flashlight in his backpack, was taken to the police station to be picked up by his mom.

Police checked at the downtown Circle K to see if the alcoholic beverages came from there. An employee said he did recall some teenagers coming into the store earlier in the evening. An officer looked in the alcohol section and noted two empty slots of the same alcohol containers that were located on the rooftop.

Police asked that the manager check the store cameras.
