A Toledo man was arrested after he allegedly left Sally Beauty Supply with $1,529 in unpaid items.
Bowling Green Police were called to the store at 1111 S. Main St. on Thursday (March 23) around 11:30 a.m. after Trey Radford, 24, reportedly put several hair clippers in a shopping basket and fled the store in a vehicle.
One of the employees of the store took a photo on her cell phone of the vehicle that Radford reportedly fled in.
An employee told police that a car pulled up to the curb in front of the store, and a male exited the car and opened the trunk. He then entered the store, asked for a shopping basket, then put several clippers in the basket.
The male then walked to the register and when an associate asked if he was ready to check out, he reportedly ran out of the store without paying for the clippers.
Using the license plate reader cameras, the police division was able to identify Radford’s car entering the city from U.S. 6 about 15 minutes prior to the theft. In that footage, the license plate appeared to be held on with one bolt. The cameras reportedly caught the same vehicle leaving the city with no license plate right after the theft occurred.
