A Toledo man was cited for assault Wednesday after he reportedly punched another man at a Bowling Green gas station.

Bowling Green Police Division was called at 2:46 p.m., about the assault that occurred in the 1200 block of West Wooster Street. The victim told police that he asked a man, Mark Welch, 52, to move his vehicle so the victim could access the gas pump.

The victim said the man then approached him while he was sitting in his truck and punched him in the face. Welch then left the area.

Witnesses told police that the man approached the victim in his truck and punched him.

When located by police, Welch reportedly admitted punching the Bowling Green man, but only because the man spit on him. The victim denied spitting on Welch.
