The City of Bowling Green Bicycle Safety Commission has selected Tom Sockman as the 2024 Bicycle Spokesperson of the Year. Bowling Green citizens who exemplify the spirit of bicycling through involvement in biking, bike safety, or bike-related activities were eligible for nomination.
Sockman is a near daily cyclist, who has been riding his bicycle for over 70 years, beginning with his first paper route in Downtown Bowling Green. He continuously practices and promotes safe riding in the city.
Thanks to a sponsorship from CycleWerks, this year’s Bicycle Spokesperson received a $50 gift certificate as part of his recognition.
