The Wood County Courthouse first opened on Sept. 29, 1896 and has continually been used as a courthouse since then. The three-story building features large hand painted murals of historic Wood County, Italian marble walls, grand staircase, and immense stained glass on the barrel-vaulted ceiling.
Tours will take place every 30 minutes, led by former Wood County Auditor Mike Sibbersen, Wood County Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn, and Wood County Common Pleas Judge Matthew Reger, and explore areas of the courthouse that are not typically open to the public.
Each tour group will be limited to 15 people.
Tours must be reserved ahead of time by emailing Aaron Krukowski at akrukowski@woodcountyohio.gov or by calling Judge Reger’s office at 419-354-9210.
