Bowling Green Police Division cited two people Friday after they were allegedly found taking scrap metal from behind a business, with a 2-month old in their vehicle.

Christina Ford, 37, Defiance, and Joshua VanCleve, 37, Toledo, were both cited for criminal trespassing. They told police the baby in the car seat was their grandchild.

Officers had been making extra patrols in the 1300 block of Bellard Drive, after a business reported people trespassing and stealing items and scrap metal from behind the building.

Around midnight, an officer reportedly saw an SUV with the trunk hatch open behind the business. Two large metal units, one an air conditioner, were sitting inside the vehicle, according to the officer.

Ford and VanCleve were reportedly standing outside the vehicle. The metal units were returned, and the two were cited for criminal trespassing.
