As an extension of the third annual Juneteenth Celebration in Bowling Green, organizers are planning a parade through the city.

Members of BRAVE (Black Rights Activism Visibility Equity) are looking for vehicles and organizations to participate in the parade on June 17.

Anyone who has a convertible or pickup truck, who is willing to drive in the parade, is asked to contact BRAVE member Elijah McKnight at emcknight@bravebg.org or 614-327-7689.

Organizations are also being sought to participate in the parade, including Not In Our Town BG, Welcome BG, the League of Women Voters, and Black organizations from Northwest Ohio.

Plans are for the 30-minute parade to begin and end at the Woodland Mall, traveling about 6.4 miles through the BGSU campus and downtown areas.

The annual Juneteenth Celebration will be held the following day, June 18, in the Wooster Green. More details will be forthcoming.
