Waldymar E. Tober, 86, of rural Bowling Green, went to be with our Lord and Savior on December 11th, 2016. He was born on April 21, 1930 to Henry and Rozella (Loge) Tober in Bowling Green, Ohio. He married Helga G. (Wichmann) Tober on January 17, 1959 and she preceded him in death on January 11th, 2016. They had one son, Mark R. Tober. He was drafted/inducted into the US Army in June 1951 through March 1953, serving a year in the Korean Conflict with the ARMOR Division. They had 56 loving years together on their farm and were longtime members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haskins, OH. Besides being a farmer all of his life, they both worked part-time many years for the Sentinel Tribune circulation department. They enjoyed taking trips when possible and especially enjoyed traveling across the country to Alaska and California to visit Mark, when he was in the Army. They also enjoyed traveling to and around Germany, visiting with family and seeing the country. Waldy was a gentle, caring, quiet man, which made him a good listener. He was always a hard worker for his family and will certainly be missed by all who loved and knew him. Waldy is survived by his son, Mark (Brenda) of Bowling Green and sisters; Matilda Shonk, Betty Weaver and Norma Stratton. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helga, his brother Arthur and sisters Elsie Potter and Frieda Shonk. There will be no services per his wishes. Memorials can be given to the charity of the donor’s choice. Waldy’s family thanks the staff at Heritage Corner for all their kindness, care and all the little extras they provided for our loved ones during the past year plus, as well as for us. As Mom and Dad are now “Together Again”, actual burial and a memorial service will be held in the Spring and announced at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, Tontogany, OH. To leave an online memory please visit dunnfuneralhome.com.
