With Kress on the mound, Bobcat baseball shuts out Napoleon

Nate Kress had all the right stuff on Wednesday for Bowling Green Varsity Bobcats Baseball team, allowing zero runs and besting Napoleon by a score of 1-0.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Kress struck out eight, while Blake Wolf sat down two.

In the first inning, Bowling Green got their offense started when the Bobcats scored on a stolen base during Jimmy LaForce’s at bat. Then LaForce singled.

A single by Trey Rubinstein in the first inning was a positive for Napoleon.

Kress pitched Bowling Green to victory. The righthander went seven innings, allowing zero runs on three hits, striking out eight and walking zero.

Wolf toed the rubber for Napoleon. The bulldog went six innings, allowing one run on five hits, striking out two and walking one.

LaForce went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Bobcats in hits.
